Travel Information

VISA:

Most Europeans, Americans, and Australians do not require an entry visa for Israel. Participants are requested to consult the Israeli Embassy or Consulate in their home country for specific details related to visa requirements. All visitors to Israel must hold a passport that is valid for at least six months from the date they are departing the country. Of note, Israel does not require entry stamps on foreign passports.

LETTER OF INVITATION:

Upon request, the Conference Secretariat will send a personal letter of invitation to participate in the Conference. It should be understood that such an invitation is only meant to assist participants raise travel funds or obtain a visa and does not represent a commitment on the part of the Global Radiology CME.  If needed, participants can request an invitation letter by email to Global Radiology CME at info@globalradcme.com.

TRANSPORTATION FROM/TO BEN GURION INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT:

Ben-Gurion International Airport is Israel’s main international airport and is located 18 km (~11 miles) east of Tel Aviv.

Pre-reserved arrival/departure airport transfers operated by Diesenhaus-Unitours

This is a shared direct transfer service from the airport to your hotel in Tel-Aviv and/or return, offered to conference participants. Possible wait - up to 1 hour for arrival transfers.  A Diesenhaus Unitours representative will meet you upon arrival inside the Arrivals Hall, after you go through passport control. He will be holding a sign "Radiology". Arrival and departure transfers should be reserved on the Conference Registration & Accommodation Form. Full arrival/departure details must be provided in advance.

Price: US$25 per person per transfer (arrival or departure).

Taxis
Taxis are available outside the airport terminal. Fares to Tel-Aviv are approx. US$38. A 25% surcharge for night trips is in effect from 21:01 until 05:29 and from 14:00 on Fridays.

Train from airport – to Tel-Aviv (NIS 13.50 = ~US$3.60).

The train station in Ben-Gurion International Airport is located on Level S (the lowest floor) and can be accessed from Greeters Hall via elevators, escalators or stairs. Tickets may be purchased from automatic machines located on Level G.

Get-off at the Tel-Aviv Center (Savidor-Arlozorov) Station.

From there, take a taxi to your hotel (approx. NIS ~40 = ~US$10). 
Taxis are available at the exit of the train station.

DIETARY: 

All meals at the Dan Tel Aviv Hotel, Sheraton Tel Aviv Hotel, and Renaissance Tel Aviv Hotel are kosher. Please notify us if you have any dietary restrictions.

CURRENCY:

The State of Israel's currency is the New Israel Shekel (NIS) or shekel for short. There are 100 agorot in each shekel. International credit cards are accepted for payment in most hotels, restaurants and shops. Exchange offices and ATM's are available throughout the city and at Ben-Gurion International Airport. We recommend that you change some money at the airport for immediate needs.

TIPPING:

When a restaurant bill does not include service, a 12% tip should be added. In hotels, one tips the bellhop or any other service provider. Taxi drivers are generally not tipped.

ELECTRICITY:

The Israeli power supply is single phase 220 volts at 50 Hertz. Most power sockets in Israel have three pin holes, and most work with double-pin European plugs. We will have charging stations available at the conference with 220 volt receptacles for Europe, UK, Asia, South Africa, and Australasia plugs. There will also be receptacles for 120 volt North American style plugs.

CONFERENCE LANGUAGE:

The seminar language is English.

SAFETY AND HEALTH:

No vaccinations or additional health precautions are required.

INSURANCE:

Global Radiology CME and Diesenhaus Unitours Incoming Tourism (1998) Ltd. do not accept liability for individual medical, travel or personal insurance. Participants are strongly advised to take out their own personal insurance policies in their country of origin.

 
 

CLIMATE & CLOTHING:

The average temperature in Tel Aviv in June is up to 84°F (29° C) during the day and cooling off at night to an average low of 64°F (18° C). We suggest you bring light clothing for the day and a jacket for the evening. Comfortable walking shoes, sunglasses, hats, suntan lotion and swimsuits are recommended for tours and outdoors activities.
